Why are there crosses put on churches, worn around necks as necklaces or even seen on tomb stones?
Because of this one fact. Jesus Christ the Messiah was crucified on a cross and shed His Blood for the sins of the world. And He was buried in a tomb and on the third day after death and burial, He rose from the dead. So to all who believe in Him, we too will rise. We believe He rose from the dead and is alive now. And His Presence is very much here with those that put their trust in Him.
So to the believer, death has no sting - we have eternal life. Heaven waits for those of whom their sins are forgiven and cleansed in the Blood of Jesus.
This is the simple truth. The cross represents freedom from sin, death and hell.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes on Him will not perish but will have everlasting life. John 3:16
