Ladies.....

'If you understand your position in life, you can change your condition in life'  There comes a time in every woman's life when she has to take a close look at herself.  Not at her circumstance, not at what she did, not how unfair life is, or at who made you do it.   She has to just look at herself in all her glory and imperfection.   Have you ever admired a woman who has been through changes in her life?  Or have you made up in your mind that she is just messed up.  Before you make this mistake, take a closer look.   A woman who has endured the most unusual life is someone of wisdom, someone who has been chosen by God to go through things that have made her stronger. Think of all the great women in the Bible: Mary Magdalene, Ruth and Naomi, the woman with an issue of blood, and Esther, to name a few.    Mary was a prostitute, a very uneasy woman. But by the time Jesus was done with her, she was His closest follower.    Esther was unfortunate in marrying an abusive man, but by the time God was done with her, she had married one of the wealthiest men in the land. Women are so quick to beat the next one down instead of trying to hold her up.  Before you wonder, 'What's up with her?' ask yourself, 'What's up with me?'   That woman could be my mother, sister, aunt, in-law, stepmother, niece, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbor, friend, or co-worker, etc. That woman could be ME. Women are the carriers of life, not the channels of death.  Let's build and encourage each other, as did Ruth and Naomi.  Pass this to all the women in your life.  Encourage and love, forgive and forget, and trust that the woman that receives this will be touched in some way. 'I can not change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination......'

 

Gladys and Pam Tables

Gladys and her assistant Pam are Role Models and their tables were very creative and inspiring!

 

Pam is the lady on the right - these are three assistants that no team could do without!  On the left is Becky, and Jessica and then Pam.  Ladies you are loved and so needed in Role Models of America!

This first table is called 'Grandma Role Model'.

 

It's fresh red and white gingham has a unique centerpiece no one could possibly top!  It's the original bonnet worn by Gladys MOTHER! 

 

With none of our conveniences Grandma worked from dawn 'til dark with her hands to provide for those she loved.  'Bonnets off to you Grandma!' Proverbs 31:31

This table is called 'The Sports Mom Hat' And it stands for all the moms who have the hat on of taking their kids to the many sporting clubs and events to learn sportsmanship and fair play.  I Corinthians 9:25 - about running a race, Proverbs 22:6 - about training up a child, and I Kings 8:36 - teach them the way to walk.

This table is darling and for every mom who has children involved in sports truly could feel supported by other moms!  The browns and bright orange represent basketballs, and even the napkin rings were little basketballs!

The Thrifty Shopper Role Model Table

 

To the working Mom who provides her family with nutrition food, good clothing and keeps her house running smoothly and still manages to save money - our hats are off to you! Proverbs 31:27 says 'she looks well to the ways of her household.' This table shows different ways she is thrifty at home.  Notice the fresh fruit and the peanuts versus the canned fruit.  Very innovative!!

Angela's Tables

A table fit for a Bride! This table is rightly named - 'The Bride of Christ'.  Filled with pure white for purity, gold for royalty, bone china for the finest, and even a wedding veil trails down gently and it is the focal point of such a lavish table setting.  II Corinthians 11:2 The veil is one hat every lady looks forward to wearing as a Bride.

 

The Garden of Girlhood table was exquisite!  Created especially for little girls to enjoy this pastel table is so fun looking.

 

Two early arrivals could not wait to set at their table.  Each place setting had a summer hat, and the center piece was a little white picket fence complete with pink rake, ivy, a watering can and flowers. We encourage girls to wear the hat of girlhood and truly enjoy being little girls, not to miss this important stage of life trying to grow up too fast.

And this next table is so unique it really draws the eye to look at it.  It's called, 'Mama's Driving Me Crazy' and it features the hat that all mothers wear of playing taxi cab driver as she drives her kids to various functions in their lives. She is a taxi driver!

 

The bright yellow is the taxi cab color and there is a  black 'road' that goes between each place setting.The metal traveling mugs look sporty and fun on this table.

 

Little cars line the road and a caution tape decorates the centerpiece.  So cute! Her verse is Psalms 37:34 "..... Put your hope in the Lord, travel steadily along His path...."

 

And she decorated another little girls tea table called, 'Every Little Girl is God's Princess'.  Here you can see the framed verse that was the inspiration for this table. Song of Solomon 6:13

 

This sweet table focused on the frog and the princess idea.  Hot pink and lime green fill this table with energy!  Every little girl gets a gift bag, the place mats are lily pads and look at the giant frog in the middle with the crown on.  A dream story come in life on this table.

 

She is a great Role Model for her own daughter as well as countless other women too!

Cressy's Tables

Cressy and her team created several tables that were eye catching,  innovative and fresh!  This one is named Crowned Women of Excellence. Choosing 2 strong colors of lime and orange - this table represents the strength and joy of being a women. Proverbs  31:30-31 Let every lady put on the hat of excellence and use her creative gifting s to be a blessing to all around her.

 

The Table of Praise uses the ribbon that climbs up then drops drop represents the challenges that women must learn to conquer by using the weapon of Praise.  The deep reds and the muted reds are as the contrasts of life.... up and down but through it all beauty is created by all of life's dramas.

 

This breathtaking table is called, 'The Hats of the Latino Woman' and represents Isaiah 41:10

"So do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed for I am your God I will strengthen you and help  you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. " 

The depths of burgandy against the shining white represents the deep places latino women face with fears for their families, the currant legal problems, the separations that can happen, yet God holds her safely in His Word and sustains her and brings her strength day to day.  She wears hats often of unexpected changes overnight, yet God's hand is upon her with peace.

Cressy and her gifted team  did a great job!!  

Heather's Tables

These are all highly decorated tables of inspiration and purpose. This one is Heather's table of The Hat of Praise and Worship.  Luke 7:47 This table of intense chocolate represents the deep rewarding flavor of our personal relationship with the Lord in worship.   The golds are the joyful contrast in praise that comes from a women devoted to God and watching Him unfold each miracle in her life.  Wearing the Hat of praise is an important attribute in the life of a spiritual woman.

 

The table theme of The Hat of Promises For My Daughters - Jeremiah 31:3 Silver for a unforgettable promise made, white for the sacred trust developed between God and his daughter while she waits on the promise to be fulfilled. So true in the life of every Christian woman.

The Hat of Service - John 12:26  She used this theme to encourage women to put on their hats of service for others in our communities.  Our country needs the valuable skills of women to help overcome our challenges as a nation.

 

Heather's tables were so pretty! The red white and blues represent the colors of our flag and the need for women to stand up and get involved in helping to make this country a great nation.

Heather is a young Role Model who is growing by leaps and bounds in the arts of womanhood and becoming a spiritual leader among women. Your tables are wonderful and every lady that got to set at one of your tables I know had a great time!

Mentoring the Young for the Future

Young teens require the leadership of ladies to help them learn how to become true Christian girls.  Their questions can be answered by their mothers, yet their eyes watch other women and they learn by seeing women work together, respect each other, love God and walk through life supporting one another.  In this world there are many distractions, temptations and potholes - a wise Role Model puts her daughter in the midst of other Role Models so she can watch, practice learning values and receive  a training on how to become a woman of honor.  In todays world of lax morals, zero commitments, and false belief systems young women certainly need the guidance of women of character to help them not make mistakes in their own futures. 
The statement 'It takes a village to raise a child'  needs another step added..... 'It takes a Church to raise a village'.  With the active involvement of Role Models of America in the local church - the next generation can certainly receive wise leadership which the 'village' will benefit enormously.

At the Tea - Teen girls decorated their own tables.... more about that later.

And  little girls raised within the framework and values of Role Models of America - have such an advantage of growing up using their talents, expressing themselves creatively, and learning how to be a leader from an early age.  What an awesome start to life they get!

And there were tables decorated at the Tea just for them. More about them later too.....

 

And young moms receive guidance, inspiration and support from the older Role Models to help them know what to do in life.  All of their questions, actions and decisions can receive steady support and comfort in their fast paced days of babies, jobs. marriages and personal lives by being a part.

So RMA touches every life and every age... for the good of all.

A Banquet to Enjoy

 

1  - Lg. Food Table -  “What’s Cooking?”  (It has a chef’s hat, apron, etc….. and we will cook up spiritual things in this kitchen.  I have a spiritual menu for it plus... 

Recipe cards with scriptures, kitchen utensils, food for thought, etc.)  Colors – Black, white, grey/silver damask with touches of red and gold glitz.

#1 - Sit Down Table - “Fine Dining” (This table will be the sit-down version to the above theme with the same color scheme and it will focus on the details of.... 

What we are eating spiritually.  Fruit of the Spirit, Bread of Life, New Wine,…etc.)  We will have a black hat like Audrey Hepburn wore in one of her movies. [Fruit and deserts]

#2 - Lg. Food Table -  “How Does Your Garden Grow?” (It has a garden theme with spiritual things growing.  Thyme for Prayer, Turnip for spiritual function... 

#3 - Sm. Food Table – will be for the salad dressing and topping for the salad and will be near this table with the same colors and garden theme.

Faithfulness

A Garden Hat and other garden themed items, cabbage leaf placemats etc.  with more details all over the table.  We learn how God is faithful in His promises and we can rest in the Lord knowing he will be faithful to His Word. 

 

#4 - Drink Table – “Gone Fishing”  -   Theme is an ocean theme with a boat and it will talk about  how we are to be soul winners.  We cast our nets and fish for the souls of men.  There are detailed scriptures about how to lead  people to  Christ on this table.

Hat's Off To Women 2009 Tea

The Role Models of America 2009 Tea was wonderful and very well attended by young and old. 

And ladies kept pouring in the doors!

Role Models of the United Kingdom

We now have a sister chapter in the United Kingdom, and their event was planned for the same day as our Tea.  I want to share it with you, as I am so proud of them and all that is getting started there!

Margaret Wilson, in the middle is the Director of Role Models there.  She is the wife of Bishop Malcolm Wilson.  She is going to be a great leader and I m so proud of these ladies and their desire to mentor women.

They all had a lovely time together - I wish I could have been there with them too! Here is their Agenda for the new R.M. of the U.K. luncheon.
